Well Samy, I think this TOI atricle only proves how degraded the newspaper is!!!
First of all we have to agree to the fact that there are by an order of magnitude more people following tennis than chess.
And to be more realistic it's also true what many people just watch it for glam!!! Fan following in this case is grossly misleading. Though looks are instrumental in your career growth, considering it to be a *necessary* element would be a blunder!
Not undermining look' importance, I would add that it does play a significant role in Public Relations: like for politicians, newsreaders, Human Resource, etc.

and ... I agree with u, for public relations, looks appear to be plus point !! But, its not only looks, attitude does matter a lot too !!
And tht point is not highlighted there in d article !!
